Danielle Gilbert, one of the world’s top experts on hostage diplomacy, will use examples from hostage taking to teach real-life lessons about negotiating in our personal and professional lives. The dynamics of hostage negotiation, Gilbert argues, are surprisingly applicable in our everyday lives.

Gilbert (who grew up in Boca) is regularly invited to brief government, military, and public audiences on issues of hostage negotiation and diplomacy. Such meetings and briefings have included the White House, State Department, Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Air Force generals, UK Parliament, think tanks, and private foundations.
