Join Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for “EcoWatch” with Liz Dutra on April 8, 2026!
Boca Raton's beaches are more than beautiful places to relax—they are living ecosystems that protect our community, support wildlife, and help buffer storm impact and sea level rise. Liz will highlight the Institute of Regional Conservation's ongoing coastal restoration efforts at Red Reef, South Beach, and Spanish River Parks. Explore how restoring native dune plants and coastal habitats helps stabilize shorelines, improves erosion resilience, and creates healthier conditions for people and wildlife alike. See why coastal restoration matters to the protection of Boca Raton's beloved beaches!
Liz Dutra's lecture, "Protecting Our Beaches: How Coastal Restoration Strengthens Boca Raton's Shorelines", will be followed by a visit to our lighted aquariums for a special after-hours viewing of the nocturnal habits of our aquarium residents.
Reservations are highly recommended; Lectures are recommended for adults and children ages 13 and up; minors must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian.
