Enjoy “Morning Makers: Say it in Color” at the Boca Raton Museum of Art on April 4, 2026!
Offered monthly on Saturday mornings, this is a creative family program inspired by artworks currently on view. After a guided gallery experience, families head to the studio for a hands‑on project led by a teaching artist, where children become the artist and bring their ideas to life! Each session features a new theme, artwork, and artmaking experience. Designed for children ages 5–12. Preregistration is required.
In April, families will explore Mel Bochner’s Blah Blah Blah (2019) in the exhibition Modernisms: Art from the Manes Collection, noticing how bold letters and color turn phrases and words into expressive art. Together, participants will look closely at how language and paint work together to communicate meaning. After the gallery visit, teaching artist Glenda Lubiner will lead a studio activity inspired by Bochner’s expressive use of text. Families will choose a meaningful word or short phrase and bring it to life using color and energetic brushstrokes, encouraging personal expression and creative experimentation.
