The Wick Theatre is proud to present “My Life with Lucy: An Afternoon with Lucille Ball’s Secretary Wanda Clark” on May 11-12, 2025!
Ever wonder what it’s like to be up close and personal with a Legend? Wanda Clark, for one, knows better than most. Privileged to be Lucille Ball’s personal secretary for over 20 years, Wanda has crafted her memories into a one-of-a-kind show called My Life with Lucy: An Afternoon with Lucille Ball’s Secretary, Wanda Clark.
Wanda reflects honestly on her life with the First Lady of Comedy, reminiscing through singular stories you never thought you’d hear. Ms. Clark will also reveal behind-the-scenes details on how she got the job that lasted 25 years-without never being officially interviewed for her position–as well as the accounts of the day Lucy needed to “borrow” her Volkswagen and more!
And to make the experience even more memorable, audiences are treated to a slideshow of seldom-seen photographs and video clips that highlight Lucille Ball’s career as well as offer a glimpse into Lucy’s home life.
Do you have a question you’ve always wanted to know about the Icon? There will be a special Q&A where audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions of Lucy’s long-term confidant. If you’re wondering who Lucille Ball’s favorite guest star was, the breed of dog Lucy always had by her side, or what Lucy used to maintain that trademark hair color, Ms. Clark knows! And she’ll be interviewed on stage by Lucille Ball historian and author Ric Wyman, the founding executive director of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Ball's hometown, Jamestown, New York.
Prior to the event, ticket holders will be treated to an exhibit in the lobby featuring a collection of vintage Lucille Ball memorabilia that represents Lucy’s private life, movie career, and television legacy. Highlights include Lucille Ball’s freshman class photo, the purse she carried on her wedding day, a costume she can be seen wearing on television and in a film, original movie posters documenting her film career and a shooting script for The Long, Long Trailer, the comedy film in which Lucy co-starred with Desi Arnaz. Before the performances, Lucy fans are welcome to dine at the Tavern on the Wick. The special menu will include Chicken and Artichoke Saute—a recipe Lucille Ball promoted in the 1940’s that was recently rediscovered in a vintage movie magazine.
If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day treat for your mom or a special Lucy fan in your life, don’t miss this unique opportunity!
