Join the Boca Raton Historical Society for “Mystery at the Museum: The Case of Chesebro’s Missing Diary” on October 16, 2026!

Become a museum detective during a family-friendly mystery adventure at The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum!

Families will work in small detective teams to search for clues, explore the museum, meet playful suspects and historical characters, and solve the mystery of Frank Chesebro’s missing diary. Along the way, children and adults will discover why diaries, letters, photographs, and museum objects help preserve Boca Raton’s history.

Program Activities

Approximate Program Length: 60–75 Minutes

  • Welcome & Case Briefing

  • Museum Investigation

  • Clue-Finding Challenges in Museum Exhibits

  • Decorate your own mini pumpkin to take home for the Fall Season

Recommended Ages

This program is designed for families with children ages 5–12. Younger siblings are welcome with adult support, and older children can help lead their family detective team.

RSVP Required

Space is limited to keep the mystery experience interactive. Families will be grouped into detective teams of 2–3 families and rotate through the museum together.

Bring your family, follow the clues, and help us close the case at the museum!
